Local Law 11 and FISP repairs
Buildings taller than six stories in NYC must have their facades inspected every five years under the Facade Inspection & Safety Program (FISP), known as Local Law 11. When the inspector’s report lists conditions as SWARMP or Unsafe, the owner has to make repairs. How long does facade restoration take?
A row-house front can take one to two weeks; larger multi-family facades can take several weeks to a few months depending on scope and weather.
Do I need scaffolding?
Above the first floor, most facade work needs pipe scaffolding, a hanging scaffold or a lift. We arrange the equipment and the permits.
Can you work from my engineer’s FISP report?
Yes. We price and complete repairs directly from the report and coordinate with your QEWI so they can verify the work.
Will restoration stop interior leaks?
Most wall leaks come from failed joints, cracked brick, lintels, coping or sealants — the same items facade restoration fixes. We trace the water path before quoting.
